A nine-member board of directors governs AHEC. AHEC's service area is divided into three districts. Directors are elected to serve a three-year term, with three directors elected each year at the Annual Membership Meeting. The following is a description of each of the three districts and a list of the current directors. District 1 - Page and Fremont Counties in Iowa.
Marvin Gubser - Hamburg, Iowa, has served on the board since 2011. Term expires July 2027.
Larry Lauman - Coin, Iowa, has served on the board since 2011. Larry currently serves as board Secretary. Term expires July 2027.
District 2 - Atchison and Nodaway Counties in Missouri and Nemaha County, Nebraska.
Jim Crawford - Rock Port, Missouri, has served on the board since 2021. Term expires July 2025.
Nancy Daugherty - Tarkio, Missouri, has served on the board since 2013. Term expires July 2025.
Duane Klute - Westboro, Missouri, has served on the board since 1991. Duane currently serves as board President. Term expires July 2026.
Craig Heits - Fairfax, Missouri, has served on the board since 2012. Term expires July 2026.
District 3 - Holt County, Missouri.
Hugh Wallace - Mound City, Missouri, has served on the board since 2001. Hugh currently serves as board Vice-President. Term expires July 2025.
Michael Peters - Craig, Missouri, has served on the board since 2023. Term expires July 2026.
David R. Frede - Mound City, Missouri, has served on the board since 2007. David currently serves as board Treasurer. Term expires July 2027.
